Description:

TOPIC:  RSS, REST, ATOM, JSON, WTF?

With the alphabet soup that is the internet, protocols and technologies sometimes some clarity is needed. In this talk we will review the current set of acronyms and how using .NET 4.0 we can interact with all types of systems across the internet. We will look at how WCF can expose and consume date in more ways than most would expect. We will see how to customize WCF to interact with non-.NET systems.


SPEAKER BIO:  

 
Woody Pewitt is the Product Manager at MindTouch where he helps MindTouch can make innovative products and solutions to enable customers get greater returns for their organizations.
Before joining MindTouch he worked at Microsoft in Southern California doing several Evangelism jobs where he got to work with all kinds of people who are interested in Microsoft development technologies. He is an experienced developer, teacher/trainer and is a part-time instructor at University of California San Diego. Woody has worked on software and system architecture, development and infrastructure reviews and analysis of several fortune 500 companies for salability, security, performance and standards & practices. He is also an accomplished author, having written Microsoft Official Curriculum and has authored several published magazine articles.
Prior to his time in technology Woody was an electronic technician in the United States Navy. Woody and his wife Sam live in San Diego and have 2 boys that keep them on the run!
